Sub: Request for manual payment
of Pension like last year on April 1st due to non-functioning of
Finacle on 1st April and Holiday on 2nd April to Post
Offices – regarding.
Ref: This CHQ Email No. No.AIPRPA/2/3/2016 Dated 16.03.2016
Kindly refer to our email dated 16.03.2016
requesting for causing customizing the Finacle Software for POSB so as to take
the difference in functioning between the Banks and Post Offices with the
latter always work on 1st April (except it being Sunday) to find a
permanent remedy to Pensioners drawing pension through POSB.
This Association of All India
Postal & RMS Pensioners hastens to bring to your kind notice that this year
also due to non-functioning of Finacle on 1st April followed by a
Sunday on 2nd April, the Pensioners drawing pension through POSB in
Post Offices will be able to draw pension only on 3rd April. On our
representation in the month of March 2015 and March 2016, payment of pension
manually by Post Offices was ordered in Circles where Finacle has been
installed. As the Pensioners are heaving a sigh of relief to witness an end to
the hiccups in POSB in the wake of demonetization, we are again facing this
problem of closure of POSB counters consecutively for two days. We therefore
request for similar orders issued like earlier years in Andhra, Kerala,
Tamilnadu and Karnataka for manual payment of pension on 1st April,
2017 to mitigate the problem of abnormal delay in drawing pension by senior
citizens.
This Association would be
grateful if necessary instructions are urgently issued for manual payment of
pension to Pensioners of POSB in such Circles under which Finacle software is
used for POSB operations.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
(K.Ragavendran)
General Secretary
